Provide patient counseling and education on the proper use, potential side effects, and storage of specialty medications.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and resolve any drug-related issues.
Oversee the dispensing of specialty medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Manage inventory and procurement of specialty medications, including temperature-sensitive and high-cost drugs.
Assist patients with navigating insurance coverage and prior authorization processes for specialty medications.
Work with insurance companies and financial assistance programs to ensure patients have access to necessary medications.
Stay current with advancements in specialty pharmaceuticals, including new drug therapies and emerging treatment guidelines.
Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
Experience in specialty pharmacy.
State pharmacy license in good standing.
Proficiency in managing and dispensing specialty medications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Certification in a specialty area (e.g., BCPS, BCOP).
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
