Staff Pharmacist – Community / Retail Pharmacy (13-Week Contract)
Overview
A growing healthcare organization in southeastern Utah is seeking Staff Pharmacists to support a new community/retail pharmacy location serving local patients and hospital-affiliated clinics. This 13-week assignment offers competitive weekly pay and the opportunity to contribute to medication access, patient education, and community health initiatives. Candidates should be comfortable working in a community pharmacy setting with variable retail hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dispensing, verification, and patient counseling in a community pharmacy environment
- Manage daily pharmacy operations including inventory control, ordering, and workflow optimization
- Support 340B program compliance and accurate medication procurement processes
- Provide education to patients, caregivers, and community members on medication use and safety
- Coordinate with prescribers and clinic staff to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Address insurance, prior authorization, and medication access issues
- Uphold quality, safety, and customer-service standards
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program (BS Pharmacy or PharmD)
- Active Utah Pharmacist License
- Controlled Substance Authorization (CSA)
- Previous community/retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills
Work Environment & Schedule
This is a 13-week, 40-hours/week assignment based in southeastern Utah, supporting a community/retail pharmacy associated with a regional healthcare system. Variable retail hours; specific scheduling details provided during the interview. Weekly pay range: $2,900–$3,200.
