Clinical Pharmacist – Inpatient / Acute Care (Day Shift)
Overview
A respected regional medical center is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy operations within a busy acute care environment. This position focuses on centralized order verification, medication safety, and sterile/non-sterile product checking. The role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care teams. This is a full-time, day-shift assignment with schedule flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and clinically review medication orders for accuracy and therapeutic appropriateness.
- Check IV preparations, oral medications, and sterile/non-sterile compounded products.
- Support medication safety initiatives and compliance with pharmacy regulations.
- Utilize Meditech Expanse or similar EMR systems for order processing and documentation.
- Communicate with nursing staff and clinical teams to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.
- Maintain accuracy and safety within the dispensing workflow.
- Follow established protocols for controlled substances and medication distribution.
- Contribute to daily central pharmacy operations in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
Qualifications
- Active Kansas Pharmacist License.
- Experience with Meditech Expanse or similar EMR required.
- Prior inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
- Strong attention to detail, clinical competency, and independent decision-making skills.
- Ability to work scheduled day shifts and adapt to varying shift structures.
Work Environment & Schedule
This full-time inpatient role is based at a regional acute care medical center in western Kansas.
- Options include:
- • 5×8-hour shifts (07:00–15:00)
- • 4×10-hour shifts (variable daytime schedule)
- Holiday work may be required.
- Limited RTO; none permitted during the first two weeks and no full-week requests.
